If you have purchase a pedigree dog that is registered with Malaysian Kennel Association, it is very likely that your dog has been microchipped. However, if you own a mixed breed dog or a pure breed dog that come without registration, you will still be able to get your dog microchipped for identification purposes.

Puppy.com.my offers dog microchipping services on regular basis at Taman Desa Community Park. The cost of microchip is RM 18 per piece and the Vet incharge will charge you RM 10 for the implantation of the chip into your dog body. Along with the implantation, a certificate to be signed by the Vet will be presented to the dog owner on the spot.

The microchip implanted in your dog will help you to identify your dog but it will not help you to track your dog in the event your dog is lost. If you manage to locate your lost dog, the only way to prove that the dog belong to you is the microchip number of the certificate of microchipping that bear your dog particulars and your name.
