in: Dogs

I stumbled upon this site The Labradoodle - Breed Information and Breeder Directory on the net and found it to be interesting.

Labradoodles were originally a cross between the Labrador Retriever and the Standard Poodle and was orignally bred as a guide dog. The Australian Labradoodles is considered a pure breed dogs recognize by Labradoodles Association Australia LAA and International Australian Labradoodle Association Inc IALA. On the other hand, American Labradoodles are considered as hybrid dog.

The Labradoodles is good with children and are easy to train. They get along well with other dogs. Extremely clever, sociable and joyful. Quick to learn unusual or special tasks. Active, a little comical at times. Can attempt to outsmart their owners if undisciplined. Friendly, though obviously loyal to their own family. Non-aggressive.

Ideally suited for young families, the labradoodle loves humans and gets on very well with kids. They can be a little boisterous during the first 18 months, but obedience training can help curb their occasional over- enthusiasm. Labradoodles love exercise, are great ‘conversation starters’ when out on walks and are really just a good all-round pet for all concerned.

Both Poodle and Labrador are known to be very intelligent dogs and both do well in Dog Obedience Competition. As such, the Labradoodles should be a good choice for those who wish to do well in dog obedience trial. As Labradoodles is also an active dogs, it can also be trained easily for the dog agility sports.

There currently no Labradoodles in Malaysia and one should be able to import them from Australia where this breed was originally popularize.
